Issue of an optometry journal published by the GRH (marked as the Hospital Library copy). Portrait format, printed in black and white on 24 pages, with soft end papers, stapled. Front cover bears emblems of a Scottish lion, Edinburgh Castle and a saint. Contents include a photograph of the GRH street frontage at 26-28 Richmond Street, an article on determining the refraction of amblyopic eyes, a lecture on Strabsimus by Mr W. Green FSMC, notes on the field of vision, a report on the fourth annual dinner, photographs of four officers of the Hospital. Full-page advertisements for: London Optical Company (Terminus frame with 'hidden' joints), Nitsche & Gunther Optical Co (1927) Ltd (Durella frames with interlocking joints), Kirk Brothers (Faciflex one-piece mount), George Culver Ltd, Willmotts Ltd ('Wertex' cases with 'Nilfrey Edge', i.e. inner lip), The Hadley Company ('They're British and They're Best) and, on back cover J. R. Fleming Ltd (Highway Ful-Vue frames). Smaller advertisements for R. Archer & Sons Ltd (Speclettes and Doblettes), Butterworths (Edinburgh) Ltd ('Butterworth's Better Work Keep the Home Lamps Burning'), R. Archer & Sons Ltd (Salvoc safety lenses), Scott & Madill (Union Improved Astigmatic Chart), Royal Optical Co., Lever Brothers (Kostules), Lancashire Optical Manufacturing Company Ltd (Advise Ardley Frames).
