Herschel medal as presented to Frank Dickinson FBOA. Round, yellow metal with, on the obverse, a relief portrait of Wiliam Herschel, wearing a powdered wig and cravat above the date 1840. Mounted against a purple velvet-covered backboard, with a glazed and painted wooden frame. Handwrittten presentation label.
