Non luminous ophthalmoscope with ivory and brass screw-on handle. Brass adjusting wheel. Two mirrors (one oblique - missing its glass). Large round separate condensing lens. Black leatherette-covered wooden hinged case with purple velvet and silk lining. Awarded as a medical school Prize in Ophthalmology. Case bears an embossed version of the Maltese cross logo of the Charing Cross Hospital on its lid.
