Hand coloured print (engraving and etching) on woven paper, satirising the subscription raised for Charles James Fox after his Coalition defeat over the India Bill, agreed at a meeting held in the Crown and Anchor tavern a week earlier, on 5 June. Featuring, on the left, the bespectacled apothecary Edward Hall, Secretary of the Blue and Buff Charity Committee. with a group of other distinguished persons. To the right, from the doorway of the Whig Club, the Devilish hands of the otherwise unseen Chairman of the Committee appear, dropoing into a shoeless Charles James Fox's Phrygian cap a bundle of unpaid bonds, dishonoured bills etc. Others in the party are Joseph Priestley, Richard Brinsley Sheridan, Michael Angelo Taylor, John Horne Tooke and the 3rd Earl Stanhope. Trimmed and mounted. In a black and gold late 20th c. frame, glazed.
