Hand-coloured print (engraving) of a spectacle manufacturing and repair workshop, a man with dividers seated at a table before a box of spectacle frames and an assortment of loose lenses, his partner leaning on an upturned log whilst talking to a customer through a window. The customer holds a quizzing glass to his eye. Above a number of pairs of nose spectacles dangle on a suspended line. Two columns of text beneath in French and German. In a modern acid-free cardboard mount, within an Edwardian (?) glazed wooden frame with roundels in each corner.
