Set of correspondence initiated by Miss Margaret J. Oram and involving several optical organisations, including the OIC, BCO, MREH and UMIST concerning the childhood relationship between her aunt, now old, and the ophthalmic optician Harry Marton, detailing their intellectual conversations embracing literature and religion and how he inspired the (always unnamed) aunt to apply to the University of Oxford. Details are included about Marton's personal religious beliefs and dalliance with the ministry.
