Article excerpted from a corporate journal describing the 'Shell floor' at the Port of London docks. Printed in black and white on four pages (pp.385-88), illustrated with photographs of a Hawksbill turtle and of men sorting the shell in crates. Comment is offered on the different parts of the carapace (sorts, hoofs and yellowbelly), the openness of the London market and prices realised, as well as the recent drop in demand due to both economic and cultural factors, plus the emergence of artificial alternative materials.
