Front cover bears emblems of a Scottish lion, Edinburgh Castle and a saint. Contents include articles, letters, a message on the importance of preparatory education, questions from the December 1928 Qualifying Students examinations, a list of course fees and a photograph of the GRH street frontage at 26-28 Richmond Street. Smaller advertisements for Butterworths (Edinburgh) Ltd , Willmotts Ltd, Royal Optical Co, Raphael's Ltd (Scientype Scotometer), Lever Brothers (prescription work), George Culver Ltd, Scott & Madill (Union Improved Astigmatic Chart), Raphael's Ltd (Scientype Main Converter/consultant's jackets/Cosmoid bridges).
