Leaflet and advertisement for an ophthalmic optician referring to his splendidly equipped Eyesight Testing Room for the Scientific Fitting of Spectacles, a warning against the random selection of glasses by the public, an appeal to readers not to permanently damage their eyes by neglect and overstrain and, on the reverse, a simple block chart for self-testing of astigmatism and a near vision test for use by the over 40s at 15 inches distance. Printed in dark blue on both sides of a single sheet of paper, subsequently folded to form 4 pages, with a prominent border and a picture of a man reading on the front.
