Letter of introduction and recommendation, preprepared and printed for Barron Edward Franks, Optician of Manchester, in advance of his annual five-day visit to Walsall. Signed by five surgeons. On the inner pages a doodle sketch of a man in a pointed hat, a long calculation and a list of surnames. On the reverse five further calculations and remnant of red seal.
