Ophthalmoscope. Blackened brass metal head and stem. Ebony handle. Interchangeable concave mirror and Helmholtz double-plate, resting in vertical grooves on the head. (Plano mirror missing). Two rimmed lenses (possibly unrelated). Nine (out of an original twelve) rimless auxiliary lenses. Black leather case with dark blue velvet lining. Tooled decoration on lid. Faded inscription on lid lining.
