Set of three spectacle frames representing proposed designs for the NHS scheme, each bearing an identity tag for approval by the Ministry of Health and a seal on a blue string. 1) NHS Model 514: Flesh-coloured transparent plastic (cellulose acetate) frame. Regular bridge. Double charnier centre joints, vertically pinned at front and horizontally pinned to sides. Reinforced sides with drop ends. PRO eyes. Unglazed. 2) NHS Model 524: Flesh-coloured transparent plastic (cellulose acetate) frame. Pad bridge with distictive flat top. Double charnier centre joints, vertically pinned at front and horizontally pinned to sides. Reinforced sides with drop ends. PRO eyes. Unglazed. 3) NHS Model 614: Flesh-coloured transparent plastic (cellulose acetate) frame. High-set regular bridge. Double charnier centre joints, vertically pinned at front and horizontally pinned to sides. Reinforced sides with drop ends. PRO eyes. Unglazed. All contained in an original cardboard postage box with separate lid bearing an OHMS label addressed to Mr J. E. Hart Esq and a red Ministry of Health ink stamp.
