Black leather-covered wooden trial case with hinged lid, two metal clasps (one broken) and key escutcheon. Fixed internal racks lined with purple velvet and marked in gold-coloured lettering, with contents comprising thirty one pairs each of rimless concave lenses (45 lenses present) and rimless convex lenses (52 lenses present), twelve pairs of concave and convex cylindrical lenses (20 lenses present), eleven out of an original twelve prismatic lenses and three filter 'plaques' in red, violet and blue. Empty receptacle for accessories etc. Metal stud feet at base of case (one missing).
