Wooden trial case, varnished, with hinged and chamfered lid. Single white metal clasp (broken). Black velvet lining to base and lid. Contains fixed wooden rack for 79 (of an original 80) rimless round lenses, divided into convex and concave pairs, with powers scratched on to the outer edge. Also six round rimless red and blue coloured filter lenses. Together with a contemporary simple drop-cell trial frame.
