Wooden trial case with hinged lid and two revolving brass clasps (right clasp part missing). Fixed internal rack of (originally) twenty four pairs of lenses in yellow metal rims and twenty four pairs of lenses in white metal rims, nine prisms and seventeen assorted accesories including colour filters, stenopaiec slits and Maddox rods. Lens powers scratched on surface of lenses. Maker's inscription on lining of case lid. Blank brass plate on upper surface of lid. Keyhole escutcheon (key missing). Red felt underlay to base. Together with a metal and ivorine adjustable trial frame.
