Wooden trial case with hinged and recessed lid, keyhole with round escutcheon and two white metal clasps. Lid contains two hinged test charts which open to reveal a larger astigmatism test chart. Internal fabric-covered panel with recess to house removable rectangular mirror. Removable lens rack containing 120 spherical and 72 cylindrical lenses, in white metal (concave) or yellow metal (convex) rims with decorative handles and powers marked on them. Also six prismatic lenses, ten auxiliary disks and an empty accessory compartment. Also a separate Landolt ring chart in white cardboard. Wired for internal illumination from a fluorescent tube, with two switch units either side. Brown leather carrying handle.
