Large wooden trial case with hinged lid, white metal hinges and two sliding clasps. Keyhole escutcheon missing. Purple velvet lining to base and lid. Containing 30 pairs of spherical concave, 30 pairs of spherical convex, 18 cylindrical concave, 18 cylindrical convex lenses (concave have white metal frames and handles, convex yellow metal frames and handles) and 8 filters/occluders etc. (one dark red filter with white metal frame and handle, one red filter, one green filter, one amber filter, one occluder, one stenopaiec slit, one pinhole, one Maddox rod - all with yellow metal frames and handles). Separate lidded compartment containing red and green swing-over filters as from microscope, sextant etc.) Also trial frame in shiny white metal with small aperture and hinged occluders. Single drop cells to front and rear. Adjustable for nasal height and projection and for p.d.
