Wooden trial case with hinged lid, keyhole, metal hinges and two hook clasps (one missing). Contains non-luminous Liebreich ophthalmoscope with Coccius clip, 87 lenses comprising 30 convex in yellow metal rims with handles, 30 concave in white metal rims with handles, 7 convex rimless, 7 concave rimless (one missing), 3 prisms, 12 supplemetary lenses for Coccius clip (one missing), three blue and one red rectangular filters. Labelled in centimetres. Purple velvet lining including document storage compartment in case lid. Documents include: Burchardt's small test type tables I, IV, V and VI (2 copies), Burchardt's large test charts I and II (dots), III (astigmatic discs), a colour AV card, astigmatic horizontal line chart, illiterates E chart, Gothic script letter chart.
