Fitting set of black leather-covered wood, with hinged lid and compartmentalised interior lined in blue velvet and silk with document pocket inside lid. and two yellow metal clasps. The contents comprise seventeen pairs of spectacles (specimens used for fitting, labelled A-T), each with a shiny white metal frame, bowed W-bridge, split centre 'English' joints, curl sides with triple ball-grip terminals and mostly (but not all) with round eye rims, glazed with glass lenses bearing etched specification. Also one lorgnette-type hand fitting frame with rectangular rims. Together with a typewritten specification chart detailing eye size, pupillary distance, bridge measurements, curls side measurement, base and apical curve.
