Nuremberg-type 'single-wire' nose spectacles. Copper wire frame. Narrow, grooved arch bridge. Thread padding on nasal portion of rims. Round eyes. Glazed. Lenses secured in frame by non-original thread binding. One lens almost opaque (probably original). Other lens blue, plano and possibly dating from later in the 18th century. Both lenses chipped at edges. Accompanied by a wooden (mahogany) dug-out case in the form of a book with a sliding cover. Case inlaid with a light-coloured wood.
