Wooden trial case with hinged lid, brass hinges, keyhole and two revolving disc locks. Brass plate, uninscribed, on lid. Purple silk lining to lid. Fixed lens rack containing 120 spherical and 72 cylindrical lenses, all rimless with powers scratched onto surface. Also empty rack for 12 (prismatic?) lenses. Three black metal accessories: pinhole, round aperture and stenopaiec slit. Also a double drop-cell trial frame in shiny white metal with ivorine scales and black hinged occluders.
