Silver medal in form of an eight pointed star, bearing in the centre a gold-coloured roundel featuring a portrait bust of Herschel. Engraved on the reverse with dedication to the recipient for merit in contact lenses. Blue, white and red ribbon collarette with shiny white metal buckle.
