Decorated late-Meiji period Satsuma-lobed bowl, round with fluted sides. Exterior decoration features a dragon. Interior decoration features a painted dragon and various oriental/Buddhist figures, some with gold halos, including the 'Dragon Taming' Arhat Xianglong Luohan (Chinese name) in the foreground holding one of the tide jewels (magical jewels used to control the tides) and a sceptre with a gourd (gourds symbolize health). Also a tall, square stand made of Hongmu (dark Chinese Rosewood), probably Chinese in origin and non-original to the Japanese bowl.
