spoon 1: 119 mm x 72 mm; spoon 2: 118 mm x 73.5 mm; spoon 3: 124 mm x 78 mm

Two replica (historic reconstruction) 'iron-age' forged bronze 'Druidic spoons', made to test and demonstrate the theory that they could have been intended as a primitive form of simple microscope utilising a liquid lens. One spoon has decorative/functional incised cross and circle, the other spoon a single round aperture close to one outer edge. Both spoons have an engraved decorative roundel at the 'handle' depicting a worm. Also a separate, less-finished, copper spoon to demonstrate the effect of four different positions for the aperture.
