Promotional exhibition card bearing reproduction of a detail from an etching by William Hogarth for the tailpiece to the catalogue of pictures exhibited by the Society of Artists in Spring Gardens, Charing Cross, in May 1761. Features a monkey-like figure wearing the clothes of a connoisseur - a wig, top-coat and sword, and carrying a magnifying glass whilst sprinkling three withered plants from a watering can. Printed in colour on square card with details of the temporary exhibition 'An English Interior' on the reverse.
