Two-draw spyglass. Flared barrel consists of separately welded panels of gilded bronze ormolu, each featuring an oval enamel plaque depicting portrait busts (two male, two female) above and full-length figures (three male, one female), wearing historical dress, below. Two draw tubes. Eyepiece with milled edge. Screw-top. (Eyepiece and tube possibly a later replacement match with an earlier barrel). Probably French.
